Over Pumpkins on the Vine--By Stacy Savage--United States

Over Pumpkins on the Vine

When ripe pumpkins on the vine
And golden stalks are all in line,
And the wind sets sail the leaves,
And there’s brightness in the trees
As they bend and creak their age,
The sky becomes a stage
With confetti swirling ‘round
That is mingled with the sound
Of honking drawing near
Before a “V” disappears
Into the sunset’s glow—
Oh, what a wonderful show
When the geese and sky align
Over pumpkins on the vine!

  5. A vine is a plant w/ a long stem that climbs a support by clinging w/ tendrils. This poem is very beautiful and pregnant w/ delight & joy. It makes the readers climb its stems image by image till they reach the bunches of grapes.
