Photographs--By Ojo Taiye--Nigeria

Photographs

loving
can hurt
sometimes

i stand at the gate
cold and alone
with your vignette playback in my head
watching them become needles
in my heart

there is only memory
to cuddle for warmth

  1. Hello, Ojo. You share a feeling we all know sometimes when looking at old photographs. It can hurt. Your imagery is precise, especially "....needles/in my heart." Good poem.

  2. Thank you Ojo for this poem. The ethereal vignette and photographs are a perfect match for the hardness of the needles. Lovely textures and emotion. Thanks fir sharing. Ralph

  4. My dear daughter is experiencing just this kind of pain and so your poem resonates deeply with me. Your poem is an excellent expression that kind of loss. Aloha, Connie

  6. A beautifully packaged piece,Ojo. As I was reading through I could not help but "play back" these wonderful lines:"with your vignette playback in my head
    watching them become needles
    in my heart"
