Like you, at the end of the day, because I know my heart is in the right place, I have to believe that what I do to help others makes more of a difference than it does not. Great poem. I wonder about the times if I could have done a little more but I try to remember the times I had helped in a good way and keep on trying. Thank you for sharing.

Sandra StefanowichS. Her input on my novel during the early stages was very insightful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8629436772073396833.post-52876506876256738632014-04-02T18:57:40.344-07:002014-04-02T18:57:40.344-07:00Well sweetie you have left your footprint on my he...Well sweetie you have left your footprint on my heart because I can surely identify with you. And like Carolyn so well put it at least you tried to help and that is what matters. I know your heart, if like mine, is to be of help. I am reminded of the lyrics to this song.
"If I can help somebody"

If I can help somebody, as I pass along.
If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song,
If I can show somebody, He is travelling wrong
Then my living shall not be in vain

Chorus:

Then my living shall not be in vain--
Then my living shall not be in vain
If I can help somebody, as I pass along
Then my living shall not be in vain.

If I can do my duty, as all men ought
If I can bring that duty to a world that's lost
If I can spread a love message that the Master taught
Then my living shall not be in vain.

Love, CharleneCharlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01059682223719672751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8629436772073396833.post-43953668071846781602014-04-02T04:42:31.246-07:002014-04-02T04:42:31.246-07:00How wonderful to know that you have left your foot...How wonderful to know that you have left your footprint on this world. It's something I struggle with quite a bit - have a made a difference? We never know when we will touch someone by a word or deed, and we are not perfect...I've learned to follow my gut and my heart - sometimes it gets me in trouble, but it's me. Your poem is timeless, and I'm sure many can identify with your words. At least you care enough to try. That's all that really matters in God's eyes. I'm sure we've all offered bad advice at one time or another. Don't let this be a burden. Just keep trying to help others as you've tried before. Your poem is quite powerful and the message has universal appeal. Excellent! How can one have the audacity to give advice on matters not ever experienced? I guess that is pure vanity of humanity. But, still it was given with ulterior motives in mind or sinister reasons........ Like you, we hope we make a positive imprint and I believe that imprint is eternal through our poetry. We are only human, after all. It isn't an excuse but a reality.......... God bless! SheriAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667011145772871853noreply@blogger.com
