Editor's Thoughts--For Today...--Karen O'Leary--United States

Dear Whispers’ Friends,

I miss you and hope that each of you continue to enjoy the gift of poetry. The light of our words can reach beyond borders and time to uplift others up, share challenges to foster understanding and for readers to enjoy.

My daughter and I are working of a collection of my short stories and a tribute to my publisher.  This is the first time Megan and I have shared the writing-editing experience. I am grateful to Connie Marcum Wong for writing the forward for this book.

For Today…

cherish
true friends,
moments
of sun,
loving
kindness
and life’s
blessings

I hope you can take a moment to update our Whispers’ community on what you are doing with writing, share a poem, or any thoughts you have.  May you continue to lift others up and be a light in the world.

Blessings and best wishes,

Karen

It is good to hear your voice and your poem of blessing, your compassion and sensitivity.
In spite of your ongoing physical problems, you take time to write. What an example you are for the rest of us.

  4. Karen, Reading your thoughts is to me a blessing from heaven as we each struggle with a weight we never envisioned having to carry. It is somewhat odd that we have never met yet we have a common bond that those outside the community might find hard to comprehend. I am so pleased to hear that your daughter is working with you and I pray that as she grows she will become a light to the world like her Mother.

    1. Wow Thomas,

Understanding the true gift of friendship is expressed in your kind words. Some people go in and out of our lives--for a purpose we won't completely understand in this world.

Each person that steps with us no matter how long is a gift. You are a blessing in my life, Thomas.

      Best wishes,
      Karen

It's winter here but in Rio you only need shirt sleeves. Don't know about Brasilia, but will travel there next week.
