Friends
A friend eats cookies with you in the dark,
walks with you to waterfalls when it’s hot,
sits with you in times too hard for words,
comes to play when you are home,
and does not laugh when you fall down.
Mary Ricketson lives in the woods, grows vegetables and
blueberries, works as a mental health counselor, and writes poetry to put it all
