Moments--By Barbara Siekierski--United States

Moments

Moments can’t be held;
they vanish into nothingness.

Moments are whispers fading
until you can’t hear them anymore.

Moments are a windows of the soul
that open up your heart.

Moments are like melting snowflakes,
gone but not forgotten.

God has given us these moments,
thoughts that mean everything.

Barbara Siekierski is a writer from Swarthmore, PA.

  1. Barbara, I love the images you evoke with each stanza. I can picture each one, even if just for a moment. ;)

  2. Barbara, I too enjoy and treasure various "moments" in my life. Thank you so much for sharing this. A moment is a short time, but they can contain some of the most fond memories and times in our life. Continued blessing to you.

    Hi Barbara...Your poem is lovely. Time may pass quickly and we can't bring yesterday back, but we can cherish the special moments and file them in the memory bank of our hearts and minds. I enjoyed your inspirational message!

  4. Thank you so much Barbara! Your words reminded me of the importance of spending our moments in doing good for if our memories are to be sweet we must plant sweet works, words and thoughts. Your words reminded me of and engrafted sweet thoughts into my soul from my Lord, "You are poor in money but rich in time. Every day spend time with the poor"

    Our lives are an accumulation of "moments," each one precious in its own way. We learn from the bad moments and treasure the good ones. Thanks for sharing this poem.

    Time is such a mysterious creation. Capturing it's passage in words is no modest feat and you have done it so well here Barbara. Thank you for sharing it with us.
