A Joyful Round--By Gert W. Knop--Germany

A Joyful Round

I remember it well,
as it once was.
We children so tightly connected,
spent many hours in a joyful round
by adults never detected.

Gert W. Knop was born in 1943, studied arts and tropical agriculture and is now living in Zittau, Germany. He writes poetry and short stories in German, English and Spanish.

  1. Dear Gert,

Thank you for sharing the innocence of children--and their acceptance of others. Too bad, many adults thumb their noses at those they treasured as childhood friends.

    Blessings,
    Karen

    1. Dear Karen,

Thank you for your comment! You're so right!! I hope that your health is improving, my friend. I cut my left hand with a serrated edge bread knife, but luckily not very deep. Love, Gert

  5. It's such a an uplifting experience to relive the happier moments of childhood; this poem is so delightfully nostalgic it can't help but send us all into our corners examining our past, sorting through to pluck out the bad and stuff back the good to keep the innate seeds of kindness and compassion in our hearts, the desire to keep seeking out friends to help us sustain that. What a wonderfully heartwarming poem. You've lightened many a heart with this no doubt; Thank you for writing this.
