Blue Waters and Blue Skies--By Arthur C. Ford, Sr.--United States

Blue Waters and Blue Skies

Blue Waters and Blue Skies,
Am I walking along a plain?
Or flying in a plane?
Am I looking up to see?
Or looking down at thee?

You look so much alike,
You look like you were born
In the early morn,
With the moon at night
Or maybe at twilight.

Blue Waters and Blue Skies
I plea!!
I think you cover me,
For you lie along the beach
And above me out of reach.

Blue Waters and Blue Skies,
You look like you can smile,
And if I'm feeling "blue"
You'll surely
See me through!!

  2. Dear Arthur, I was mesmerized by this poem. Perhaps you remember hearing about the disappearance of Flight 19 in the Bermuda Triangle. The last thing the pilot told the air controller was that he could not tell the sky from the sea. Indeed, they look much alike. I hope you never feel "blue," but if you do, just remember how much God loves you. Blessings to you, my friend. Carolyn Devonshire

    1. thanks carolyn,
i knew of flight 19, but thanks for informing me of rest.
i wrote this with no knowledge of what the pilot said.
my inspiration came from walking along the beach in Los Angeles back in 1980.

  3. Arthur this poem had very interesting perspectives. I found it very thought provoking. It all depends on how one views their world as to how it is for them. Thank you for sharing your talent with us here at Whispers.

  7. What a wonderful rhythm and visual affect this has. I pictured myself on a beach filled with moonlight contemplating what was all around me (sky, tides, sand, cliffs at my back and so on).
