Winter Image--By Gert W. Knop--Germany

Winter Image

imbedded in thoughts,
passed time
melts away in the current
of presence
like snow flurry

Short days
pass with songs of blackbirds
like pipe dreams.
Buried fir-tree green
under white
dark water of the Mandau

Lonely sun rays
flying over glittering ice.
Through small clouds' haze
light breaks through.
Houses and sky
in distant fog

  1. I'm loving these winter poems. Nice one, Gert. I do not like the cold but it is amazing to me how gifted people like yourself can create warmth and beauty our of cold and bitter. Thank you for sharing and continued blessings!

  2. Gert, thank you for this well written poem full of imagery. I really liked the line, "Through small clouds' haze light breaks through", reminding me that even in the dead of winter and in a world shrouded in darkness, a light will coming breaking through the clouds and the love of my Savior Jesus Christ can heal the darkest of days, if I will just look for it.
    Love, Charlene

  3. Hi Gert! I'm no fan of winter (I suffer the cold), but your imagery helps to make this season more attractive. All the best. // paul
