One Moment of Peace--By Sheri Stanley--United States

One Moment of Peace

Gentle dove as white as snow
Fantasy on wings I go
Flying through infinite sky
Fears diminish, glorify
Guiding light, finite below
In slow motion, precious flow
Worldly life left far behind
Sweet the tempo to unwind
Float among celestial light
Wondrous view erase the night
Love beyond the wildest dream
Waterfall in peaceful stream
Gentle dove as white as snow
Fantasy on wings I flow.

Sheri is an artist, song writer and poet. She is also a graphic and digital book illustrator. A citizen of the United States she enjoys golf and music and quiet evenings at home with her much cherished family.

  1. Hello, Karen, and thank you so much for posting my poem I would like to reiterate that although I no longer host the web site, I have collaborated with writer, Zona Rowand Lawrence, in writing a children's book, The Morning Dream, which is now available on Amazon for Kindle and other electronic devices. All the illustrations from cover to cover are mine. All the words are Zona's. The actual book will be available on Amazon soon. I hope I haven't stepped out of line in this writing but, my intention is FIRST and foremost to thank you for posting the poem. Your on line journal is amazing as are you! Thanks again, my friend, Sheri

    1. Dear Sheri,

Thank you for the reminder about the website--I corrected it above and in your file. I don't have time to read everyone's bio each time I publish a poem so I appreciate it when people let me know when they need updates. Thank you for noticing it and pointing it out to me so that I could make the change. I appreciate all you do for Whispers, my friend. Thank you for your kind words.

      Blessings,
      Karen

    2. As always, as continuously, I refer to you, Karen, as "the Angel" and you are. I know the hard work one puts into their web site and so you are to be commended on your diligence and desire to grow this wonderful meeting place of writers. Thank you so much for your pure admiration of all writers all across this land! I am sure, the feeling is quite mutual! Sheri

  5. Sheri, your title drew me immediately to your poem. Who cannot use more peace in their lives. Truly the mind is the key to peace. "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he". Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent once again. I always look forward to reading your poems

    Dear Sheri,

"One Moment of Peace" is a beautifully written poem. Your repetition of the last two lines reinforces the first two lines as a frame for everything in between. Great poem!
