"Thanksgiving"--By David Fox--United States

"Thanksgiving"

People on Thanksgiving Day
Poor or wealthy
Should be happy
If they're healthy.
So while you're having
Your celebration
Remember the less fortunate
Across the nation
Who haven't as much
As you have got
Before you put that turkey
In that pot
When you make your
Thanksgiving "toast"
Remember it's love
That matters most.

  2. Thank you, Edison. I like to inspire when I can. The quotes weren't meant to be in the title -- I always use quotes or underline my poems and I guess Karen misunderstood.

  3. Good Morning David

Your words and entry give the true meaning of Thanksgiving. May we all know and recognize our blessings. Your entry is smooth in its entirety. What a wonderful world it would be if all thought in this manner. It was a pleasure being introduced to your work. I look forward to reading more. Sincerely, Ann Marie Mazzarella

  4. Ann Marie,
Thank you. Sometimes in all the hustle and bustle and preparing Thanksgiving dinner we forget about the poor and the homeless. My sister works in a homeless shelter so she and my family know the true spirit of the holiday.
