One Shared Moment--By Sheri Stanley--United States

One Shared Moment
(Whispers Dedication)

Whispers, so like a warm embrace
Taking you to another place
Placing a smile upon your face
Giving your soul a certain grace

The pen unites, therefore delights
Inspiring hearts in all it writes
At peaceful sleep in restful nights
In Whispers flows reaching new heights

Through words and rhyme we emerge one
All hopes and dreams under the sun
Rainbow of blends where dreams are spun
For one shared moment peace is won

(Editors note--Thank you, Sheri, for this lovely dedication and for all your do for the Whispers community.)

  1. Dear Sheri,
How thoughtful of you to dedicate your beautiful poem to the poetry site where so many talented writers share their work. Indeed, Through words and rhyme we emerge one." I feel the "warm embrace" of many great artists here and it does make my heart sing. Love the poem and the poet! Carolyn

  2. Geepers, Carolyn, so cool running into you once again in these Whispers halls - I think we must be kinfolk by now - didn't we just enjoy a cup o' jo this morning in the Whispers Lounge? Your beautiful and melodic voice is so memorable - I would not forget that! I think if we both bug Karen, she'll drop that ol' boring black coffee and offer us that Hazelnut - what do you think? Wink! Thanks for the sweet comments. Sheri / www.poetryandbeyond.net

  5. Sheri, I just loved your dedicatory poem. I think I will just invite myself to your little gathering in the Whispers lounge and bring my Peppermint Tea. LOL. Actually who needs anything to drink when one is in such great company. Sweet spirits such as you each have is refreshment enough. Indeed in the company of those who bear their souls with such uplifting words another can and does rise to new heights. Thank you for sharing your talent here on Whispers for all of us to gain from.
    Love, Charlene

dedication you have shared with us and all who visit this site. So nice to meet you.

It's very hard to rhyme four lines in a row without seeming forced, but Sheri makes it flow perfectly and naturally. Great use of language.
