Faith--By Eleanor Michael--United States

Faith

Born into this life
without knowledge,
we muddle through
with as much guidance
as we can find,
and at life’s end,
we leave with
as much dignity
as we can muster.

Eleanor Michael has published poetry and short stories in a variety of venues.

  1. Hello, Eleanor, it is good to read you here at Whispers. Your poem is a very poignant one and makes me think of all that we learn in growing and in family life with the examples we have. Your poem definitely is food for thought. Thank you for giving us privilege to read you! Hope to see more... Sheri / www.poetryandbeyond.net

  3. Hello Eleanor,
It seems we do search for guidance often in our youth. Even now, I pray for guidance. Sometimes people have illnesses that prohibit them from leaving Earthly life with little dignity. But I surely agree with all you said in this intuitive poem. Best wishes, Carolyn

  8. Eleanor, I can certainly see your skill and finesse in this verse, but more importantly, it touches me on a very deep and personal level. It reminds me that I want to keep my life simple, yet meaningful. It is beautiful.
