Sweet Poetry--By Andrew Ntchindi Jere--Malawi

Sweet Poetry

From the cotyledon of nature
Poetry blossoms into opaque shadows
And shoots out leaves of transparency

A haven of inborn creativity
A prey for the mushrooming web
Where innocent smiles are portrayed

Pressing on the peddles of poetry
Torching the glowing eyes
Shattering darkness from twilight to dawn

From the mantles of the head
Emanates a geyser of boiling inks
Meandering into an audible language

Andrew Ntchindi Jere is a published youthful poet from Mzimba District, Malawi. He believes God is his source of creativity.

  1. Andrew,

Thank you for sharing "Sweet Poetry." I especially like the opening stance and it continues to delight with each verse from there. Poetry is often transparent and I believe that is the beauty of the words we translate from mind to paper. Thank you so much for sharing. God is also my source of creativity.

  3. Enjoyable reading - poetry is within us all, however, other have difficulty expressing their feelings. So happy you are not one of those 'quiet poets'. Excellent...

    1. RG, thanks for honest comment. Poetry is indeed within us and we just need to pick, but as for I do not manage to pick it without God's help.

  5. Those words express poetic license beautifully. I believe poetry touches all ages and then prisms out to sing their notes to heaven and God. Without poetry, God would not hear those notes even those of quiet poets. Thank you for this gem and welcome to whispers! Love Jane
