OCTOBER'S SECOND SPECIAL FEATURE
COLLABORATIVE POEM
COLLABORATIVE POEM
The Wind Moans
By Sunil Sharma--India
and Karen O'Leary--United States
An earthen lamp
under a banyan tree
beside a shrine--
faith-n-light for the village
Seated on the meditation
bench, my friend's son
is asking Yama why
he took his father so young.

Congratulations dear Karen & Sunil. A short poem which delights with its simplicity of expression, and yet affords us the benefit of suggestive meditation. The moaning wind clearly echoes the boy's feelings...sad, but we know that he'll be finding answers from above. Regards ~ paul

When everybody creates their own meanings, poetry becomes an enduring site of appeal and fresh interpretations. Thanks dear poets for your inspiring comments. Thanks Karen for running such a great home. You are the soul of this magical place. Learning a lot from each one of you. Such collaborative poems can be featured in an online anthology after a year, if Karen likes the idea. More power to the family whose gentle whispers are heard across the globe now. Stay blessed. Let us spread love and positive energy!
