Fool’s Gold
It has been mention that I have a heart of gold.
Let’s just tell it like it really is,
I might stumble and fall for a beautiful woman.
Then I will honor you for the queen you are.
All praise and duty shall be bestowed on you.
Fight your wars, wash your back & make your bed.
Some have been known to take advantage of this,
Living in the lap of luxury while laughing in my face.
I’ve been a Fool giving away the gold of my heart.

Dear Kevin -

Such gentle reading - this I always find upon reading your poetry. Your words bring hope to one who longs for a love like you. But, it seems all the 'good ones' are already taken. Beautiful poetry Kevin...

ReplyDeleteHi Kevin, I guess many of feel like our hearts are made of "fools' gold" when something goes wrong in a relationship. Good to now there are others out there who have shared such experiences. Original topic and great, clear writing. Enjoyed! Carolyn Devonshire
