Joe--By Jack Horne--England

Before we met that winter day,
The world was empty, sad and dull;
His presence took the gloom away
And now my life’s returned to full;
I lost my heart and find it strange
A tiny bird can bring such change.

* For my mother’s canary

Jack Horne enjoys reading and writing poetry.

  1. awwwww Jack. I had a canary named tweety and he was always sunny yellow.

  2. Dear Jack,

    Love this poem you wrote about Joe. The unconditional love that pets can bring to one's heart is a gift in itself. So glad you wrote this my friend.

    Love Sandra

  3. Dear Jack, you experienced so much loss last winter. It's wonderful that this tiny (albeit rotund as you told me earlier) bird can make such a difference in your life. I love hearing about the adventures of Joe. I bet your Mum has gotten very attached to him as well. Love to you, Mum and Joe, Carolyn D.

  4. Nice poem, Jack. Animals do have such a way of forming a bond with us that brings such joy. Thanks for the reminder.

  5. Thank you, Sara Kendrick, for the following comment--

  6. Thank you, John Williams, for the following comment--

    Thank you for sharing your gratifying experience. What a blessing when things sad and dull can make a change and return to full. I know the feeling. Enjoyed your work.
