Special Feature Collaborative Poem--By Ken Allan Dronsfield and Blanca Alicia Garza--United States

A Whispered Hush

By Ken Allan Dronsfield and Blanca Alicia Garza

Lavender hues with reds and blues;
Secrets coveted by a whispered hush.
She sneaks away now, given the cue;
The sky exploding in a flurried rush.

For the sun keeps her secrets
tucked away within the night.
But the twilight holds her promise...
until the breaking dawn's first light.

And now the Moon rises above
illuminating the early evening sky
a shooting star catches my gaze
my heart beats on, a silent sigh.

I'll always cherish the memories
of the beauty found just before dusk.
Singing a sunset faerie serenade,
gently revealing the Whispered Hush.

  3. Thank you Ken and Blanca--
    I especially like the internal rhyme in line one and the use of cue, hue, blue peppered through stanza 1. Twilight in morning or evening--my favorite time of day.

  8. Ken & Blanca, this is a gorgeous poem. I love the faerie serenade! Twilight is one of my favorite times, especially sunset (I'm not always up for sunrise ;-) especially in the summer). I would love to have you read my blog about postcard poetry exchange for April, and consider joining. http://www.lenorarainleegood.com/#!April-is-National-Poetry-Month/c1q8z/56c64ae40cf2de8a478fd71e. 9. Thank you, Isha, for the following--

    This lovely poem reads like a fairy tale.
    It's like a snapshot within a moment or two of the moving scenario, ever changing wonders of nature.

    Yours sincerely,

  10. I really like this whispered hush! Somewhere in our rush of quotidian being, we've forgotten to keep an ear out for the whispers.
