Special Feature Collaborative Poem--By Gert Knop--Germany and Jack Horne--England

Mouthwatering Meals
(served in English, German and Spanish)

By Gert Knop and Jack Horne

Great from Germany
fine beef roulades
served with some dumplings
Grandma's old recipe
and a full-bodied red wine

Gutes aus Deutschland
feine Rinderrouladen
dazu die Klöße
Großmutters altes Rezept
und ein kräftiger Rotwein

Bueno de Alemania
rollo de carne vacuno
servido con albóndigas
vieja receta de la abuela
con un vino tinto jugoso

       ~~~~~~~~~~~
fish and chips with peas
or beef with yorkshire pudding
my favourite food
is high in cholesterol
and fattening...but yummy!
Fisch und Chips mit Erbsen
oder Rindfleisch mit Yorkshire Pudding
mein Lieblingsessen
ist reich an Cholesterin
macht dick ... aber ist lecker!
Pescado y patatas con guisantes
o carne de vaca con pudín de Yorkshire
mi comida favorita
es rica en colesterol
engorda ... pero es delicioso!
  1. I enjoyed reading out loud the two languages, but I've most likely murdered the German. Still it was fun to hear about your favorite foods. Thank you for posting.
  9. Thank you, Isha, for the following-- Yes it is, as you say, light-hearted poetry, turning words into delicious sounding food and I am sure most readers will thoroughly enjoy with the exception of a few who are vegetarian and wouldn't dream of eating what they consider to be dead food. But it should make them laugh as well nevertheless. Good one from these two poets.
    Sincerely,
    Isha Wagner
