Dear Whispers’ Friends,
It is an up and down rollercoaster ride with my health these
last few weeks. It is part of my life
with chronic illness. I treasure my Whispers’ friends. If I don’t get back to you as soon as I have
in the past, I hope you will understand.
I would like to thank Inge Wesdijk (Daginne Aignend) who has provided us with activities for
September and October, Caryl Calsyn for giving us the opportunity to share some
thoughts on the writing in September, and for Jack Horne who has brought
collaborative writing back to our online journal this month. As we move forward, there are new opportunities
to explore. I hope more of you will
consider sharing articles. thoughts, and other ideas that weren’t possible to
explore in the limited submission based journal of the past.

Thank you to Inge Wesdijk (Daginne Aignend) for accepting this
poem for the October Activity/Individual Poem publication opportunity on

Dear Jan and Inge,
DeleteI appreciate your comments, Jan. Though I wrote the poem as Inge identified. The important thing is that our words can touch the lives of others. It is a blessing to you both for being a part of the Whispers' community.
I feel blessed to be a part of this journey with our online line journal. Blessings to both of you, Jan and Inge.
Best wishes,
Karen

Your take on 'friendship' is beautiful, Karen! We need not raise our voice to true friends...a whisper will suffice:) Warm regards // paul
ReplyDeleteDear Paul,
DeleteThank you for your kind thoughts. Your gentle approach is captured in your writing. Some whispers say more than the outspoken as quiet moments allow people to find the truth before they turn off in this fast paced world. I hope you will continue to be a part of the Whispers' journey.
Blessings always,
Karen
A beautiful poetic composition!
ReplyDeletePravat

Karen, your "Together" poem reads like a mission statement, thorough, precise, all encompassing, and above all, essential.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a treat when you give a shout out at Whispers.
Michael
Dear Michael,
DeleteYou are probably right on this although it was not my attention. What I tried to convey in this poem is the heart of why I keep writing.
Friendships, like yours run deeply into the core of my being. Poetry is a chance to touch the lives of others. I hope you will continue to be a part of Whispers.

Dear Allan,
ReplyDeleteWith perspective into the future, no one really knows but I believe in Inge and Jack for allowing our Whispers community to rise again. Thank you for your support and for Inge and Jack for making Whispers possible.
Blessings,
Karen
It seems clear to me that the community Whispers is the epitome of friendship as all the supportive comments left in reply have indicated as such; I am so very humbled to have been blessed an opportunity to have been included in this month's theme, thankful that Daginne Aignend, Caryl Calsyn and Jack Horne have all graciously stepped in to assist their friend in need so that I and all others who entered into this comforting Word Playground around this time period can continue reading (and writing if we will) within this enchantingly magical on-line poet's paradise. As for "Together", what a lyrically lovely uplifting heart song, a joyous reflection on the unequivocal power of unconditional friendship and the joining of harmonious kindred spirits; Karen, a sincere prayer of supportive encouraging thoughts I send as you continue the exhaustive battle of chronic illness and may your Higher Power assist you in a swiftly administered, healthy, optimal dosage of shorter bouts within less frequent durations.
ReplyDeleteDear Leslie,
DeleteWow! I am honored that you find Whispers a encouraging place to share your gift of words. We are a journal, but I began Whispers, hoping it would be a haven of friendships and good will.
Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. Best wishes wherever your writing journey leads.
Blessings,
Karen
Thank you; I am hoping to continue submitting poems in near future for consideration within this haven as soon as I can find an area of clean slate to sneak away to and a mile of moments to sequester self in as I'm immersed in a myriad of "plate too full" at present time stemming from trying to self medicate by taking on too much extracurricular activities to battle off stress incurred from one too many of lifes inevitable curveballs we all experience. That said, I'm still vibrating with excitement from my first poem published online outside of own FB page and poetry group sites...thank you again for assisting in that!
