Liberation
Open fields, unfettered
by walls and concrete
speak to my soul,
freeing my spirit to soar.
Green fields, uncluttered
by sandwiched buildings
touch my heart,
helping me to hope.
Natural fields, untainted
by industries’ greed
clear my mind,
daring me to dream.
Flower-sprinkled fields, unsoiled
by strewn litter
enchant my eyes
giving me a glimpse of God.

ReplyDeleteYour poem is inspiring...Anything the Lord creates is without clutter, confusion or chaos. His tranquil settings touch our inner spirit! So different from asphalt, concrete, steel & stone fashioned by the hands of man. Enjoyed reading your poem, it speaks volumes....

ReplyDeleteThis poem makes one long for country life. It is easy for city people to forget nature when they buy their food in cans and frozen in packages. I especially like the way the poem is formatted.

Oh Karen how beautifully you write on the hope that nature brings renewing us daily. You bring also to mind some of the ways in which mankind has somewhat spoiled the world in which we live with their blots on the landscape. Reminding us of treasures bestowed upon us a plenty we should be thankful, enjoy and leave little footprints as possible - that others too might enjoy for many centuries to come... Thankyou for all your hard work in bringing us all together here. Kindest thoughts, Anna-Marie. x

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your poem. It is interesting how you use such unique words to introduce types of fields. The introduction of each field varies in scope and excellence. A reflection of experience interpreted by rich personality. As always, I am your captured fan. Thanks.
