Tanka--By Gert W. Knop--Germany

Schmetterlinge im Tanz
Sommerreigen am Nachmittag
Mosaik der Natur

Von ferne der Ruf eines Kuckucks
Aus seinem unsichtbaren Versteck

The dance of Butterflies
Summer roundelay in the afternoon
A mosaic of Nature

From the distance the cry of a cuckoo
Out of his invisible hiding

  1. Thank you, Phyllis Babcock for the following comment--

I love butterflies they are so delicate. A delightful poem Gert.

  2. I've always enjoyed your descriptive tanka and haiku, Gert and this is no exception-- really missed reading these, especially together with your translation-- I can get the "mariposas"....this is nikko btw ;)

  3. The beauty of nature encaptured and envisged all in one picture. You capture all of this in great tanka form, well done. Kindest thoughts and thanks for sharing, Anna-Marie Docherty.
