The Haunting Sea--By Leokadia Durmaj--Australia

The Haunting Sea

I love the allure of the ocean
It heals my mind heart and soul
Drowning my thoughts with it sound
Imposing a rhythm within

Feeling the breeze embrace my body
Whilst casting a spell sending shivers
Bringing back the spirit that knows ~
The love that evolves inside of me

Voices from the sea speak to my soul
Quieting my thoughts I hear angels sing
Uniting all spirits giving birth to wisdom
I hear cries from the ocean beneath.

  1. Hi Leokadia, Love your poem! I see we have something else in common beside having three sons, our love of the ocean! I've always felt blessed to live near the ocean, it's a favorite place to contemplate & enjoy God's amazing handiwork under His blue sky, & sense total serenity while basking in His presence. Thank you for sharing a wonderful piece here! God bless you, Chris~

    1. Thank you Christine for your lovely review, your words are so comforting. The ocean has always been a special place to me. I use to sit at night and watch the waves come tumbling in, listening to this amazing sound. I love nature in all its glory, for I know that it is God's creation, such breathtaking beauty. Sending blessings always, Leokadia

  6. Leokadia, once again you share such a wonderfully written poem and for me one that reminds me of why I love the ocean too. I love the sounds that fill me with peace.. I can hear oh so many voices too, as I think on times spent visiting the ocean in my early years. Thank you for sharing your talent that always speaks to my soul..
    Love, Charlene

    1. I use to sit on the shore line at night and listen to the waves, so peaceful with the stars above at time filled the sky, I think of them as Angels watching over us all. I agree with you about the voices, so many sounds can be heard. Only people who listen with their soul can hear. Bless you my dear friend, Love. Leokadia

  8. Leokadia: The sound of the ocean, the feel of the ocean. The murmerings, the shrill shouts, the repetitive banging, the lulling lapping. You know it well.
