Spread...--By Gert W. Knop--Germany

Spread out your wings,
fly high,
further, further yet
and far beyond the sky,
without a fear
into the light,
where future lives
and life is bright

Gert W. Knop, born in 1943, studies art and tropical agriculture in Germany and Scotland (University of Edinburgh). He has lived in many different countries and writes mainly in German, English and Spanish. He currently resides in Zittau (Saxony), Germany.

  1. I really love this poem Gert. I think it was inspired because it reminds me of a dream I had once (a message from God, if that doesn't sound too weird to you). Your poem was shared here on Whispers, just for me I am sure. :) Well of course not, but I like to think it was and thank you for sharing it and for your evident talent.

  3. Hello, Gert! It is wonderful to have hopes and dreams and even better to fulfill them and be successful! Of course, at least to me, that doesn't necessarily mean "monetarily" but just knowing that each day simple accomplishments make the day a success, which ends up being many days in ones life....... thanks for sharing a lovely thought. 1. Dear Calolyn,

I hope you are doing well and thank you for your kind comments! I was quite busy helping my English friends here with translations and hopefully I will hear soon from my Austrian publisher who will print my Sri Lanka Fairy Tales. I am not often now on Facebook or writing emails. I appreciate your friendship and hope you are well!

      Love,
      Gert

  6. Gert, to me, your poem highlights what those of us who believe - is what we strive to attain, eventually. So much said in the brevity! Awesome! Sheri
