Old Flames
Their recall triggers…
can be a faded 8 X 10 photo
you stumble across,
a snowstorm that rekindles
tender memories,
a hurricane that shares
his or her name,
or a burnt cigarette,
recalling the time your ex
torched your residence
to ashes.

Richard,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this. It is interesting how the end kind of ties in with the title. Good poem.
