Pieces of Poems…
pop in my mind;
instant inspiration plucked
from international headlines,
mixed with mundane vignettes
from my subconscious.
I wrote poems to impress Pam,
now I write them
to forget her.

Awwwww! Didn't expect the last three lines. Sad - there is always a light at the end of that dark tunnel - have faith...

Dear Richard
ReplyDeleteJust string us along until - boom! Great poem. I'm sorry if it's at the sacrifice of a loss. Life is just cruel at time - yes?
love,
Kathy

And it's alright, Richard! I think all that says is that you've grown not only as a poet but as a person as well! Well done!

ReplyDeleteRick,
I see others enjoyed the twist at the end as much as I did. Clever poem. Thank you for sharing it for Whispers. Keep up the good writing.
Blessings,
