Pacific Blue--By David Coon--United States

Pacific Blue

Alone with the colors of life
in her hands, she sits enthralled,
as nature paints an ever-changing picture before her.

As daystar descends towards water's gloom;
pastel skies darken to shades suppressed,
silhouetted pods of whale sound in dismay,
seabirds dip wings in evening flight,
wave's roar distanced as gravity pulls,
wind gusts peak then subside.

Dusk arrives; heralds the night.
In defiance, the heavens flame
then darken to pacific blue.

David (Dave) Coon has been sharing his poems on various social sites since 1997 and has always gone by the name of Nissmech. David originally wrote this poem in 2000. He thanks others for enjoying it!

  1. Really happy to see Dave Coon featured in Whispers... He is a fantastic writer, particularly when he focuses on the human condition. This definitive poem is very representative of his level of writing excellence. So often, as is the case here, I will read something Dave says, and marvel at how clear and concise the meaning is, and find that in some manner, it will apply to me.

  5. Welcome to Whispers Dave and thank you for sharing your wonderful talent in this well written poem. I could imagine myself on the sea shore and listening to all the sounds of nature. It reminded me of my first trip to the ocean when I was a girl and was so enthralled with the whole experience. Thank you for the reminder of a joyous time in my life.
