At the Blue River
By Gert Knop—Germany,

Wesdijk (Daginne Aignend)—The Netherlands
Lonely at the blue river,
lingering,
gazing at the stones in it,
shiny, like precious jewels,
without the dust of the past.
Lonely at the blue river,
thoughts wander with the wind,
rushing distant clouds
on a quiet day
Soothing, murmuring
friendly wavelets
whispering stories
as they move
in circles
Tranquil moments,
daily devoirs
vanish leisurely
A praise for the mind
Lost in my memories,
serene sadness,
at peace with the past.
Raindrops splash,
each drop adding ripples;
the sun still shines,
sparkling on the water.
Mellow moments,
a salve for the soul.
Dear Gert, Jack and Inge,
ReplyDeleteThis is an absolutely wonderful poem! I like the introspective feel and have read this several times. Each, taking something new from your words. The last two lines are a "salve for (my) soul" today.
Thank you, my friends! What a treasure you are.
Blessings,
Karen
Dear Karen,
DeleteGreat that you liked our co-write, my friend! I had the idea to write a poem with us three and I think it was really a good idea! I hope that your health has improved and at least a little!
Love and Blessings,
Gert
Dear Gert,
DeleteI think the opportunity for sharing thoughts in a cohesive way is that hallmark of our poetry journal. Writing is an opportunity to share our light. This poem an insightful view my friends.
Wishing your joy in your writing journeys. May your light always shines.
Blessings,
Karen
If I had skipped my stones into this water; If I was to gaze at a surface glass-off, imagining the streaks of glare from the sky; might I dwell on terrain below the surface, where the wind holds no sway; and no doubt, I would surmise that the clouds above were not of my world, that I could not even hazard a guess as to whether those clouds were coming or going; I would come to acknowledge... It is me who is blue, and my reflection is what gives the open water its hue.
ReplyDeleteGreat your comment, my friend! And even more as you liked our co-write!
DeleteKind regards,
Gert
It is a wonderful compilation, Gert. I just connected with the initial stanza, on a personal level.
DeleteWow Michael!
DeleteThank you so much for taking time to share your thoughts for our trio of poetry friends. Each writer is challenged to move forward in the time and space one is able to carry messages. I really appreciate your thoughts for our three country friends.
Love and light,
Karen
Dear Karen,

Love and Blessings, Gert
Each poets' undeniably own signature style is so very apparent, an integral factor in enhancing the other; the swaying rhythmic lines tease us as they delightfully segue into the richly woven tapestry of words which provide such an stunningly exquisite visual experience. Even just sounding this out I felt like I was trespassing on the sacred grounds of good friends sharing deep secrets, so enchanting a moment as this poem is.
