sound of dreams

what are
the sounds of dreams
on a winter
    dark night

it has been snowing steadily
and dawn comes all white and silent
with snowflakes dressed
like tiny poems

Thoughts from Nila Webster--This poem, like so many of my mother's captures the Zen of the season. Winter does bring its dark nights, for certain, yet the image of dawn 'white' and 'silent' is filled with hope and beauty. I love the idea that the snowflakes are dressed like tiny poems.

  1. A soothing poem, wonderfully written. It gives me a feeling of coziness sitting inside, while the world around me is covered with a soft blanket of virgin snow. A lovely remembrance of Jani's work

    With respect,
    Inge
