Not Forgotten
A carved lion,
a statue, horse and rider,
a kitten, embossed in stone,
monuments to what
the deceased did in life.
Are they here--
as wraiths, ethereal,
as imprint or spirit,
wandering among the stones--
or only memory?

Dear Eleanor -
ReplyDeletewill we every know until we too wander or just fly away? Thank you for this thought provoking poem.

A good read.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this thought provoking poem. More than just memories, it is my belief that animals are not gone forever any more than we are when we die. Thanks for helping me remember what I believe and that I will see my beloved departed pets again.
