The Bends
Excavated amid steep challenges
This make-up on escarpments of pain
Stepping up this vomiting
In these early life’s waspish bends
Winding without a compass
On every individuals compound
Like natural litter
That automatically dumps itself
Sweetness ahead
Engraved words on the road signs
Feeding our souls with strength
As we pretend to be going straight
But still we bend, snaking forward

Andrew, Welcome to the Whispers community and thank you for allowing us the pleasure of enjoying some of your poetry. This is a nice poem reminds me that there are good days ahead, even when it may not seem like it. There are a lot of "bends" in life, but as you can attest, with God, we can navigate through to the "sweetness ahead." Thanks for sharing and when you get a chance, please stop by my website and consider submitting some poetry (www.tgbtgpublictions.com). Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAndrew,
ReplyDeleteI like the positive twist at the end of this poem. Welcome to Whispers!
