Blending Colors
(Quatrain)
Dripping rain of jeweled light
dreaming of rainbow flowers
scattered sparkle day and night
throughout colored autumn hours
Behold the sun’s brilliant rays
large sky painting on display
moonlights romantic ways
lovely bright white winter days
But when spring arrives on the scene
flowers bloom brightly and gay
all the trees and hills turned green
the blue birds happy at play
Gold and red leaves falling down
their colors are near-divine
nature wearing autumns crown
like stars ever lasting shine
Fiery sun setting for the day
quiet evening fires are aglow
clouds changing from dark to gray
diamonds sparkle on the snow

Hi, Erich. This word painting is fantastic as I can read through each quatrain and greatly visualize each painted moment of your words. A pure and total joy to read! Beautiful and serene imagery of the 4 seasons. Exquisitely done! Sheri
ReplyDeleteVienna - so good reading this beautiful visual poetry here on Whispers...Many times I think we get through our harsh winters knowing spring will soon come. See - there is a light at the end of the tunnel...

Hello Erich,
ReplyDeleteThis poem has some of the best imagery I have ever read. Indeed, each season comes with its own colors, blending into an artistic pallet that is like a rainbow. Beautifully written! Best wishes, Carolyn Devonshire
