Ode to the Unwalkables
By Jack Horne, Sandra Stefanowich and Carolyn Devonshire
Jack's Carpet Slippers:
My slippers were backless and red
'So comfy to walk in,' I said
But I tripped and I slipped
Like a pancake I flipped
And bounced down the stairs on my head
Sandra's High Heels:
Walking in high heels I do dread
Pathetic sight to all ahead
Leaving me in dire straits
A foal on roller skates
On my butt my face cherry red
Carolyn's Cowboy Boots:
Leather toes so pointy and slick
For me cowboy boots did the trick
Until I forced them on
Scrunch! Where had my toes gone?
Had to pry them off with a stick
I absolutely loved this collaborative effort, Jack, Sandra and Carolyn. I am so fond of limericks and you three did this poem justice. I had a good laugh in the mean time and just want to congratulate you on a job well done. Thank you for sharing your talents together.

DeleteThanks for stopping by and giving our co-write a read. I'm glad we gave you laugh as we had fun writing them!
Love Sandra
Thank you, Beth Winchcombe, for the following comment--
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all three limericks, well done to all of you.
Beth.
Hi Beth,
DeleteThank you, Beth, I'm glad you enjoyed the limericks.
Sandra
Oh, guys, this is so adorable and bouncy leaving this reader with a caricature of fun and funny in positions of which I may all be familiar! Cute! And, creative that 3 of you from different countries fell into this same subject, same thought process, same caricature of fumbles over a certain shoe fad! Cute, cool and very collaboratively creative! Well done! Sheri / www.poetryandbeyond.net
ReplyDeleteHi Sheri,
DeleteThanks for giving our limericks a read; we were just being silly and had a blast writing them. I'm glad you enjoyed them :)
Sandra

Hi Ranu,
DeleteThank you for your kind comments on our co-write it was an enjoyable collaborative effort and I'm glad you it.
Sandra
Well the three of you show off your shoes…
ReplyDeleteafter sharing a bottle of booze?
For the rest of your clothes,
it seems anything goes…
May I ask was it Prada your muse?
Nice work, all of you... Terry
Terry, your limerick is a hoot! We love it, but neither Sandra nor I drink any alcohol. We just had bad shoe experiences. Those cowboy boots look nice, but whose foot is shaped like them? Really appreciate the input from all the readers. Love, Carolyn
DeleteHi Terry,
DeleteI got a kick out of your limerick very funny! I'm far from a Prada gal and the three of us don't really need booze when we get together to write for fun although it may seem that way lol! Thanks for reading!
Sandra
Well done you three! Job well done :-) Ralph.
ReplyDeleteHi Ralph,
DeleteThank you for reading our co-write and for your kind words, I'm glad you enoyed it.

Thank you, Joe Maverick, for the following comment--
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the piece by Jack Carolyn and Sandra, it shows expectations don't always work out as we'd have wished, still I suppose you gotta try..!
Oh my lanta! This is priceless and rich! What a way to end my evening...thank you all so much for the laugh! I have had slippers that made me trip; I've worn high heels that made me tumble; never owned cowboy boots - yet! This was just terrific. Again, thanks for the laughter! Kristina
ReplyDeleteDear Kristina,
DeleteI couldn't buy the cowboy boots as my feet would not go into them. Settled for moccasins and have at least a dozen pair of them. Far more comfortable than cowboy boots!
Many thanks to all who read our co-write.
Love and blessings,
Carolyn

ReplyDeletePam
Thank you, Pam. It seems all of us have had uncomfortable or even "dangerous" shoes from time to time. Pity poor Jack bouncing down on his head. We appreciate your comment!
DeleteBest wishes,
