Nepal
(for Kathmandu)
slowly the dead in numbers riSE
like the evils we see in the skies
trembling earth
has birth us death
even our temples fell, pray then tell
is our knell from heaven or hell?
we open our hearts to paths
of a flow of the beauty of the soul
needing your help to grow
from this pain we now know
we pray with hope…
but for how long can we cope?

Su'eddie Vershima Agema, your poem speaks TO ME about how insecure our world is right now. Indeed, how long can we cope? Through all the bad, what happens to all the good? How do we initiate change in the right direction? We must keep believing and that is where we will get our strength.......... thank you for sharing such a marvelous and poignant poem. Sheri
ReplyDeleteDear Sheri, there are a million questions that confound us more...where nature isn't throwing her blows, we find ourselves throwing ours.
DeleteI think in the end, we all have is faith, a continual hope and that love which we should cultivate wherever we are. Sometimes keeping up with news can be disheartening but again, if you don't, who knows?
We will find our strength and we will be far stronger even as we give ourselves out more. I believe.
Thank you, for not only reading, but finding time to drop a note, Sheri. It means much.

:) Thank you Karen... It feels good to be inducted into the 'Whispering' family of great verse. Sad that I have to sneak in on the wings of sorrow. Wish it had been something better but I guess there's also tomorrow.
DeleteI thank you, for the work you do here on promoting poetry. I can only imagine how much work it is.

Thank you MJ, Rev MJR :) It means much to be a part of whispers...
DeleteI went to your site. There's a certain calmness and cuteness to it. The order was a bit confusing at first but it took me a few seconds to smile my way down.
Thank you for the prayers, and for the work on that site too. Maybe some day I will get to contribute too. God bless us.
Su'eddie,
ReplyDeleteA very meaningful and understanding poem about the problems in the lives for the people in Nepal. It shows true empathy. Don't worry -- things will get better.
Your new friend,
David Fox
Hi David...
DeleteThank you. Sometimes our helplessness is a burden that makes us sad... I wish we could do more or be there but I guess in the end, we can only offer our prayers and support of spirit in the hope that the warmth will generate a force in the universe enough to smile on the people of Nepal.
Glad to have you as a friend! I am dancing to the music of this meeting. Cheers!
Su'eddie, thank you for writing these words -- I am glad to find them here.
ReplyDeletewarmest regards, Laura M Kaminski (Halima Ayuba)
