Heaven Scent--By Beth Winchcombe--England

Heaven Scent

You cannot buy love.
It's priceless.
It has to be given freely.
Love and warmth comes from within
the heart!
In the first instance,
love is fragile.
Liken to a delicate rose,
it slowly grows,
and blossoms into pure beauty!
Like the perfume of the rose,
love is heaven scent.
A delicate aroma,
distinctive, unrivalled!
Inhale it.
Savour it.
It belongs, only to the one you love!
This is SO unique,
it's PRICELESS…

Beth Winchcombe is now a retired housewife and enjoys writing poetry, also painting in oils.

  2. Beth, thank you for sharing such a lovely and heartfelt poem. Indeed the kind of love one has for that special one in their lives is truly heaven 'scent'. I loved the simile "Liken to a delicate rose, it slowly grows, and blossoms into pure beauty!" The other similes are delightful too. keep sharing your great talent.

  3. What caught my eye was the title 'Heaven Scent'. Years ago I wore a cologne called that and your title brought back memories of those days. As for your poetry - your words ring soooo true. Nice reading this morning...

  7. Beautifully written, Beth! Surely love cannot be bought, but when you find the type of love you describe so well in your poem, you rejoice. I hope your love continues to grow throughout the years to come. Best wishes, Carolyn Devonshire
