Spring--By Karen O'Leary--United States

Spring

Season that bursts with new life
Sparkling hues alive with hope
Souls absorb the gift of light
Sustained by faith in the word
Spreading the seeds for rebirth
Slender sprouts grow strong in grace
Spring bursts forth, alive in God

  1. I just loved the symbolism of spiritual new life compared with Spring. The seeds of rebirth are indeed found in the word of God. At least that is my take on your very moving words for me. I look forward to new life in Christ as I immerse myself in His word. Thank you for confirming words in what I feel is the spring time in my life after a long winters night of cold darkness. I am a late bloomer, but better late than never. The Lord accepts us no matter how early or late we come. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent in so many ways here on Whispers.

  2. Dear Charlene,

What a blessing your words are to me today. Spring is my favorite season. I love the new life awakening. I think the spring of our faith comes alive at this time of year as connecting with nature and it's rebirth we connect to the maker of all the beauty around us. I hope the comparison of the season and the feeling alive in God work. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and ongoing encouragement.

    Blessings,
    Karen

A beautiful description of spring "bursting forth." Indeed it is doing just that now. Love the way you began each line with the same letter. Great work, dear.

  13. Thank you Karen for this refreshing burst of springtime wrapped in this poem. Here in Michigan we ever can really tell if it will be a nice spring or a very cool one, but one thing is for sure, as "Spring" points out, there is much beauty no matter what the temperature. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed this poem. Continued blessings! -MJ
