Things Not Known--By Isha Wagner--New Zealand

Things Not Known

Things known rule the day
As I plod through the labyrinth
To enable me to know what to do
Then it strikes its familiar pose
And I know everything I don't know
Is what I must know.
To complete the journey to end-time

A magic path to transformation
It's the rules that govern the stretched
Known highway
I'll find it in a sudden critique
Launched in inexplicable downfalls
Or with a child stumbling through
Unknown words
Nothing will be the same again
I will know that I know

Isha Wagner is a New Zealand poet. She has resided in many countries including Iceland, Libya, India, and Australia.  She read some of her work at the VIII International Poetry Festival held in Granada, Nicaragua, in February 2012. She has had three collections of poetry published.

  1. Isha, how very lovely your word that struck a responsive note with me. I have had the privilege of being on a magic path of transformation and for me nothing has been the same since and I know that I know that I know, God lives! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent here with all of us on Whispers. I have been blessed today by it.

  3. Dear Maralee,
Throughout our lives we face many challenges. Sometimes we know how to deal with them and sometimes we just ask God for guidance. Eventually, we know more than we did before, but indeed it is a difficult journey that requires constant learning. Very poignant poem! Best wishes, Carolyn

  4. Dear Isha,

A very thoughful poem to come back and read again. Yes we do plod along in our daily lives and wonder of things we do not yet know but if we are still willing to be open-minded and keep learning as we go we may some day find those answers. Thank you for sharing your poetry with us.

I could say I found this an easy read but I'm afraid I didn't however after rereading it several time I got to grips with your concept this is a very deep and thoughtful piece of work which is probably why it took me so long to appreciate your fine poem

I may sound negative but I did enjoy your poem it is well written!

    Write On, Write Well

    God Bless
