A Different Kind of Participation
The
summer
that I was
14 was the
last summer that I
participated in
activities sponsored by
Dover’s summer playground program.
I’m
thankful
God provides
ways that I can
participate in
serving Him in my life
as well as read books and walk
even though I’m not a person
who climbs the jungle gym any more.
Suzanne Clement is a writer from Dover, New Hampshire.
Very nice. God bless Pete.
ReplyDeleteHi, Suzanne - very nicely expressed here. It is good to be grateful for what we are given and to write of it is even more of a blessing, especially when one can share with others. For that, I thank you! Sheri / www.poetryandbeyond.net
ReplyDeleteI admire the honesty in your poem. Any reader can connect when a poet/writer writes with truth and sense of honesty. Good work! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Suzanne. I am also thankful for all that God allows and provides. Thanks for the reminder in this wonderful poem. Continued blessings!

Suzanne, this is simply and wonderfully stated; a perfect reminder of where we came from (childhood) and where we've come to (today). Well done!

Your poem reminds me Suzanne that in all seasons the Lord has a purpose for those who follow & serve Him. Thanks for sharing your inspiring words. God bless!
ReplyDeleteDear Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteYour poem brought back memories of the playground activities I enjoyed in childhood. Surely we lose some of our athletic skills as we age, but as you describe poignantly, we are still blessed with the ability to serve our Lord.
Truly a brilliant poem!
Best wishes,
Carolyn
Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great etheree...you brought back some good childhood memories but of course, we grow up, like the 2nd part implies we will never be those children again, but can still be faithful to Him.
