Men of Steel
Brave men do not retreat or cower
From the threat of an iron shower.
In the frenzied heat of a spear-din
They find courage to fight and to win
Having prayed and put faith in the Lord
They fear not blood or sleep of the sword!
Notes from our Poetry Editor Inge Wesdijk—
iron shower = rain of spears or arrows during a battle
spear-din = battle
sleep of the sword = death
