Just
Words
Don’t tell me I’m fine
Don’t tell me it will all
work out
These are just words
I need something so much more
I turn to my God
I open my heart and soul
And He says this
“My child, it will all work
out
because I will hold your hand
through this storm.
We can get through this.”
Suddenly a peace
washes over me...
so much more than just words

I like poets who are not afraid to put God in their works. May God remain in her poetry and life and give strength to all of us.
ReplyDeleteShannon,
ReplyDeleteWith God in our life, all is possible. May He bless you continually. Welcome to Whispers if you are new, a warm welcome from me even if you are not.
Your new friend,

This message of resolve and tranquility will by its way to who it was written for, though you will probably never know who that is. Such as it is with a willing vessel. This is the way it works.
ReplyDeleteI can say, for sure, who one of the appreciative recipients is, because that would be me... Wonderful poem, Shannon.
