embers--By ayaz daryl nielsen and Peggy Dugan French—United States

NOVEMBER'S THIRD SPECIAL FEATURE
           COLLABORATIVE POEM

embers

By ayaz daryl nielsen and Peggy Dugan French

the campfire faded away
the stars now our steady companion
an owl hooting in the forest
serenades us
with gossip of far-journeying winds
stirring up long ago dreams
of a home full of caring and loved ones
smiling we slip into the night

  6. The lovely images you create through your words are so soothing and caressing. I really love the idea of peace and inner fulfillment your evocative verse depicts and brings about, in particular in the last two lines of the poem where the sensation of calm and reassurance are conveyed and accompanied by the alliteration "smiling we slip". Beautiful Poem!

    1. Hello Peggy and Ayaz,
I often hear an owl hooting in the nearby park. On Monday it is supposed to be the biggest moon of the year. I know when I look at the night sky that night, I will have a copy of your poem folded in my pocket. Thank you for such a treasure. Best wishes for you both.
