APRIL ACTIVITY FEATURE INVITATION

From--Activity Feature Editor—Jack Horne
Email Address-- jack-marcus@outlook.com

Dear Whispers' Friends,

Our Whispers’ editorial team is looking forward to offering a wide variety of Activity Poem Invitations that we hope you will enjoy.  We hope to bring relaxing topics that writers at various levels can share in yet provide an opportunity to grow on some level too.

                                      ---Your Whispers’ Editors

TOPIC—Acrostic Poetry

SHADOW POETRY DEFINITION—"Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title.”

CHALLENGE—

To write an Acrostic poem, 10 lines or less, on any theme.

EXAMPLE—

Vampire

By Jack Horne

Very pointed teeth
And skin that’s rather pale,
Maybe wears a cape,
Prefers some blood to ale,
Isn’t fond of sun -
Required to hunt at night.
Encore! More necks to bite…

Your poem can be very simple with one word per line, if you wish, but this form can be quite a challenge, particularly if written in rhyming verse. We look forward to seeing where your imaginations take you!

  9. And by the way, Jack. I thoroughly enjoyed your Vampire Acrostic. It made me smile. Not only that but you accomplished a difficult feat, as I have come to understand better by writing my own Acrostic in rhyming verse. Thank you again for your guidance.
    Sincerely, Charlene
