My Light--By Lynn Long--United States

My Light

You...
Are a star shining bright
I am earth, forever bound
to gaze upon your light

And I have seen your soul
In all my dreams
Pure as the snow
on moonlit beams

And I have loved you...
All of time
Knowing always,
you were never mine...

For I am the wind,
the rain and ocean tides
And you...you are the
golden dawn of sunrise

Still...I whisper
your name into the night
and make a wish for you,
my star, my light

  1. The interplay between two lovers is wonderfully expressed through the pairs star/earth, wind/sunrise. The intense longing is expressed in a few, well-chosen words. Brava!

  6. Very good Lynn, as I read this words popped into my head, Silent Lover. I think this happens a lot in mortality.
