On Going On--By Eleanor Michael--United States

On Going On

When old friends pass on…

Sometimes, I wonder
when I pass the gate,
if I’ll be greeted
with a smile or a reprimand –

I hope I’ve learned
something in my sojourn here.
I try to forgive other’s mistakes
as I go along the way.

When I pass on…

I hope my old friends
will forgive me, too.

Eleanor Michael has published poetry and short stories in a variety of venues.

  1. Eleanor,
I'm sure they will. You're a true blessing. You should get your issue of The Poet's Art sometime later this month or early next month.
