Journey Of Purpose--By Ndaba Sibanda--Saudi Arabia

Journey Of Purpose

                                      A life-changing journey
can be curvy but calls for straightness of character
Sometimes dark clouds clear into brightness if one looks
beyond the horizon with patience and purpose and conviction

Ndaba Sibanda is a Zimbabwean-born writer. His poems, essays and short stories have been published in Africa and the USA. Ndaba currently lives and teaches in Saudi Arabia. Of his career, he says, "writing is my life, and my second wife".

  1. I love this personal statement of conviction and dedication. Sometimes we tend to forget this finite journey is one of many ups and downs but to see beyond with hope and as Mr. Sibanda writes, one must know oneself and be strong of faith, patience and purpose. This is a mantra everyone should go by......... God bless, SS

  4. Ndaba. Thank you for sharing this delightful poem. You are so right about "straightness of character." Life will, and often does, present us with obstacles that are not always straight forward, but in the midst of the storm, we must maintain our character and integrity. This is a nice reminder of that. Continued blessings!

  5. Dear Ndaba,
Indeed, life is quite a journey and we are well advised to stop and ponder what lays ahead. As you say, the clouds keep changing, just as our lives do. If we remain steadfast with positive resolution, we can find the light, the truth, the way. Awesome poem! Best wishes, Carolyn Devonshire

  6. Dear Ndaba -

I must have hit a wrong button and lost my comment. Glad I came back. This my friend is a keeper. To know the curves are not forever and keep on the path, is a gift not everyone receives. Just beautiful.

  9. Short and sweet, and to the point. Your poem says volumes in just a few words.
Well written. Life does sometimes throw us curves, it depends on the person, to keep going or to give in.
Don't give in, keep writing beautiful poems like this.
