Triptych of an Iceberg*
*(parts two and three)--see February 24 for part one
By Elly Wouterse and Victoria Anderson Throop
Base of an iceberg
below
frigid tides babbling
or rageous surfaces
spheres of secrecy
hidden in a womb
glaciated mass
transparent solid grounds
dangerous crystal shards
possibly murderous
deadly seductive
for those travelers
daring the frozen or defrosted sea
*********************
Trace of an iceberg
arctic summer
illuminates
briefly
crystal clear
formerly free air
imprisoned
in the radiant midst
of ice
floating fog
wrapped towards nothing
rare rays
or liberating daylight
die an icy death
in the dark depths
beneath the white nights
Vivid and powerful. Great combination!

Glad to have the ability to temporarily halt global warming...here where we see snow year round it's hard to imagine it will ever change....icebergs and glaciers never cease to dazzle and amaze me! What fun to hear that readers are also interested! Victoria
DeleteVery vivid imagery, I sure do not want to encounter and iceberg. Robert

Charlene--This collaboration was a first time experience for us. The harmony that has been commented upon by many readers was something that reflects the friendship that Elly and I have. It has been a joy to work together and share our work not only with each other, but with readers in a new venue. Victoria
