Timeless Perfection
Somewhere exists a love
That envelopes every pore
Of imagination
That fills my heart
Pure of emotion, gleaming
With delight of you
You shine with a sparkle
That can only be stated
With timeless perfection
Love - a wondrous, harmonious
And incredible feeling
Of pure magnificence
You have made my life
Bearable, and laid straight
To my tender heart
That awaits your truth
Of majestic visions
Masterfully created, polished
Fortitude, that which you possess
And allow me to hold

Russell, your poem is very sweet in its definition of love. You've squeezed out every nuance of depth within this word and its meaning. I have read you previously on Whispers because that you are working towards receiving your poetry degree, well, struck a chord of remembrance when I first read that news. So, the joy will be to read you many times here on this Whispers venue......... Sheri
ReplyDeleteRussell: Congratulations on your progress towards receiving your poetry degree. The theme of your poem is a fact of our species--to crave perfect and forever love. Well done.

Dear Russell, thank you for sharing your talent with this wonderful poem describing the width, height and depth of pure love. It described perfectly and at the same time reminded me of the experience I had when I tasted of the "fruit of the tree of life" or in other words the pure love of Christ. I will never be satisfied until I can feast on that fruit forever. No earthly love can begin to compare.
