Outshined--By Lisa DeVinney--United States

Outshined

It’s nearly dawn
and a slivered almond moon
hangs precariously in
an indigo sky.
With each passing moment,
the horizon brightens –
First to dusty rose,
then a bit of turquoise
blends the day star’s light
into a golden canvas.
And all the while,
the wisp of a moon
continues its fade
into daylight,
outshined by the sun.
As am I.

“He must become greater;
I must become less.”
John 3:30 NIV
