Etched Glass of Symbols
Magic swirls within the view of one's eye
as delicate ribbons twist and turn elegantly,
eyes that seek truth above and beyond the filters
beyond the camouflage, beyond their hidden hues
Mysteries engulf the mind as the waves send
messages fulfilling the desires of the invader,
penetrating the private hollows of the hidden
as brilliant mental images lost - rise
Mentally saturated by images of depth
showered by the invasion of a brains space,
our electric vision overtakes their moments
creating our own etched glass of symbols
May we question, what we have seen
as we intrude upon another souls mind,
hidden secrets or shallowly hidden grief?
No I say, hidden glory of life that is to be –
as an invasive mind is silenced

Wow, Rhoda, so many thing come to mind as I read your posting. I wonder, at times, when we should speak up and I wonder at times why we remain silent........ that is only one thought that comes to my mind as I read this poem. Reminds me, too, of the quote, ...... "people who live in glass houses" ............ so, you see, your poem is a mind stunner, to be sure! Much depth, much soul has gone into your words and I will be anxious to read others' comments going forth. Very deep! Sheri
ReplyDeleteWow Rhoda, that poem is so deep and my mind wants to read it over and over like one looking through a kaleidoscope and seeing so many different patterns but each beautiful. This poem would surely be winner in a contest. It is a winner in my book.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your awesome talent here on Whispers.
Love, Charlene
Dear Rhoda,
ReplyDeleteI love the way you describe how we can never be sure our interpretation of another's images or words are the same as they intended to be. This is highly creative as I've never seen a poem on this topic before, but it certainly deserves some thought and attention. We all see things differently, yet I feel this thought-provoking poem has a unique message and it came through very clearly for me. Brilliant, my friend! Love, Carolyn
Sheri, Charlene and Carolyn - Thank you so much for your comments. This is one of my moments of mystery - a moment of becoming lost in the uncertainty of what is around one. Each of us will gain their own unstanding of my words - thus the world continues to spin...

ReplyDeleteDear Rhoda I can feel your heart and soul in this amazing poetic piece. Sometimes we can place our trust in someone not worthy of our kind nature. Your words speak volumes and this is a wonderful presentation of poetry. Blessings always, Leokadia
ReplyDeleteThe mind itself is a mystery that is filled with ever more mystery... exciting poem... Terry
ReplyDeleteDear Rhoda,
ReplyDeleteA well written, thought provoking poem. The mystery our minds and others can indeed lead us to uncertainty at times. Thank you for sharing this with us and thank you always for your kind comments.
Love Sandra
Thank you Maurice, Anielica, Terry and Sandra for sharing your thoughts with me on this poetry. A bit dramatic, but I think my words express what I feel on the subject. Sometimes one's own secrets are just that - one's owns! Another should not dig too deeply into another's soul...

ReplyDeleteDear Rhoda--"Etched Glass of Symbols" is indeed deep, for the human mind is the deepest entity in the universe. Outer space or inner space, which is deeper?
Thank you, Eleanor Michael, for the following comment--
ReplyDeleteAn interesting poem--shades and images. A decision made.
Thank you Robert for your supportive comment. I went back and re-read the 2nd and 3rd verses and yes the mind is very mysterious for all of us. Your comment is special indeed...

Gerald - thank you for the visit - I absolutely love your question - 'Outer space or inner space, which is deeper?' I think we will have a draw on that one - but with the outer space' at least we can come upon some visual answers on occasion. With the mind many time it is like entering a 'black hole' - ya know???...
