You Are Not Alone--By Lisa DeVinney--United States

You Are Not Alone

When you opened your eyes this morn,
Was it with anxious thoughts of what’s ahead?
God’s Word says not to worry, but
To cast all of your cares on Him, instead.

He may not change the circumstance,
For it may be a time for you to grow.
But He’ll supply sufficient grace
And strength beyond yourself, so you will know

How much He loves and cares for you
Despite the trials that tend to weigh you down.
For trials make opportunities
To see God’s awesome love and grace abound.

So as you start this brand new day,
Come cast those worries at your Father’s throne.
And listen to Him whisper that
He’s there for you, and you are not alone.

  1. Oh, Lisa, that is so true and something one has to learn because being human isn't the easiest thing to learn and it is so easy to worry, worry, worry. I know it does no good to worry except give one heartache and probably heartburn, yet, to trust in the Lord completely would make life run so much more smoothly....... I wonder how many really do just put it all in His good hands? Sheri

    1. Hi Sheri! Thanks so much for sharing your comments with me. I wish I could say that I faithfully remember to leave those cares at Jesus' feet. Sadly, I don't. But the older I get, the quicker I am to do so. :) Lisa

  2. Hi Lisa,

A well written poem reminding us to keep the faith no matter what life hands out to us. There is a reason why we go through what we do and holding on to faith makes it a little easier if we try. Thank you for sharing this poem with us all.

  3. Lisa, I am so glad I read this devotional poem. I was going to quit until I decided to read just one more and I am so glad I did. You are a woman after my heart and write like I like to write.. We all need reminded daily to cast our cares upon the Lord for He will sustain us. Thank you for a beautiful poem. I so much appreciated it.

  4. Hi Lisa. What a touching poem. It is sometimes hard to see past all of life's frustrations. To know that we serve a God that is bigger than all our issues is such a great relief. Thank you for the reminder. I feel encouraged.

  7. Dear Lisa,

This is exactly what we stive to do -- give our trials to God and seek His guidance. Sometimes the outcome is not what we hope it will be, but we trust in God to show us to right direction. You said it beautifully in your poem. Love, Carolyn
